Salute to Internet Discoverers
The Tesla
Memorial Society of New York salutes the three men who's discoveries in
the field of physics are vital to the Internet. Those three men were
awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in October 2000: Jack
S. Kilby, an engineer for the Texas Instruments in Dallas, United States, Zhores
I. Alferov, the director of the A. F. Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute in
St. Petersburg, Russia, Herbert
Kroemer, a physicist and professor at the University of California at
Santa Barbara. These
three men, with their work and ingenuity, made our lives better and more
interesting. All three men shared the Nobel Prize in Physics in
October 2000 for their discoveries vital to the internet. The
Internet is the greatest technological wonder of our civilization.
The words, pictures, signs, information, and news are
being transferred from continents to continents within seconds. The
Internet is the highway of informations, connecting continents over seas
and oceans, connecting governments and states, common people, and friends
on opposite sides of the global. It is a tremendous boost in
commerce and advertisement. It is a limitless space for the storage
of information and transfer of knowledge. It is the school
blackboard of the world.
