East-West Institute New York Statesman of the Year Award To: Dr. Vojislav Kostunica, President of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Dr. Vojislav Kostunica is the unsung hero of the Yugoslavian bloodless revolution which brought peace in the Balkans and stabilized the political and military situation in South-East Europe. The Yugoslavian bloodless revolution re-integrated the Serbian and Yugoslavian people into the international community. Dr. Vojislav Kostunica, is a great historical figure and the unsung hero of the South-East political and military European Transition. For his accomplishments as a Leader and Statesman of Yugoslavia, Dr. Kostunica received the East-West Institute Statesman of the Year Award on May 8, 2001 in the Regent Wall Street Hotel, New York City. We congratulate Dr. Kostunica on his prestigious award. It was an award for democracy and peace in Europe. The delegation of the Tesla Memorial Society of New York was invited and present for the Statesman of the Year Award given to Dr. Kostunica. Tesla Memorial Society of New York would like to thank East-West Institute for giving this prestigious Statesman of the Year Award to Dr. Vojislav Kostunica, this award is given to the whole nation of Yugoslavia. We also thank Miss. Margaret Cosentino, Special Events Coordinator, East-West Institute, on her dedicated and important work making the event so beautiful.
