Tesla's friends at Robert Underwood Johnson's home

At Johnson's home at 327 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, New York City, Tesla met many important and influential people of his time.  Rudyard Kipling was a great poet of the age and recipient of the Noble Prize for literature 1907.  Kipling was born in Bombay, India.  Kipling was one of the many people frequently present at Johnson's home, others include John Muir, Helen Hunt Jackson and Ignace Paderewski, a famous Polish composer and president of the Polish government who represented Poland at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Also Anthonin Dvorak, the famous Czech composer.  His countrymen, Michael Pupin was also present in Johnson's home.

Anthonin Dvorak was the director of the National Conservatory of Music in New York between 1892 to 1895.  Tesla met Dvorak in the home of Robert Underwood Johnson and his wife Katharine.  Johnson was  the editor of Century Magazine. He published Tesla's photograph from his Colorado Station with magnificent sparks of electricity - man made lightning and many articles about Tesla's work and life.
